Freedom of the Seas - pictures & video clips
I like to thank the bloggers for the pictures and video clips. I will submit my pictures very soon!
Deaf people thought we had a murder on the ship. Not true!
Unfortunately one Deaf man was found dead in his bed (cabin). Perhaps a heart attack! He was only 43 years old. It can happen anywhere!
On first day at Cozumel, I met Trudy Clarke, my friend at the other ship. It was a small world that we met at same port. She knew we were on the ship, but didn't know when we arrived in Cozumel. I didn't know what ship she was on.
Rumors spread fast! 40 were arrested? I don't think so.
According to Deaf Passage: No one was arrested!
I know 4 were arrested on the first day at the port. They brought drugs.
One missed the ship on one of the islands (true or Just a rumor (Updated: 11/13/08)
One interpreter was arrested.(not sure!) No interpreter was arrested.
One family was turned away on first day because the parents did not bring a birth certificate for 6 months old baby. (We felt bad for the family)
The captain of the ship would love to have us again.
Our wonderful staff who learned the basic sign language. They were so friendly everyday even though they were under pressure. We love them!
124 interpreters were on the ship. They did an outstanding job.
(4 Deaf interpreters for Deaf-Blind people)
New information: (9/13/07)
2 British Sign Language, 2 Irish Sign Language, 12 Deaf Interpreters for Deaf Blind and the rest were ASL terps. Thank you, Emilia our interpreter coordinator of the ship!
Over 52 Deaf Georgians went on this trip.
Over 400 Deaf Michiganians came.
Over 600 Deaf Canadians came.
Over 22 Deaf Alabamians came.
We visited 3 islands instead 4 because one island was flooded. That was okay! We had fun on the ship. Many activities were held on the ship. Lot of water games! Basketball, golf, track & wall climbing.
Lot of good food!
The ship is the largest one in the world.
